The Valdosta Board of REALTORS® has had a Community Service Committee for many years.  The sole purpose of this Committee has been for REALTORS® to give back to the community in which they make their living. 

For several years, the Committee worked on the Woman’s Show and raised tens of thousands of dollars for various local charitable organizations.  Just a few of the beneficiaries of monies raised in this annual endeavor include the Children’s Advocacy Center of Valdosta, Hospice of South Georgia, Inc., Second Harvest Kids Café, the Valdosta Theater Guild Children’s Theater, the Janus School for Autistic Children, Jacobs’ Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center and Arts, Inc.

During 2007, the Committee decided to switch things up a bit.  They have already held a Spring Fling Golf Thing to raise money for Janus School, Arts, Inc., Kids’ Chance, Jacobs’ Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center, The 30 Club, and The Valdosta Block Club Federation.

Now, the Committee is so excited to hold a festive gala, the Festival of Trees, the likes of which Valdosta has not seen before.  The proceeds from this wonderful event will benefit The Children’s Advocacy Center of Valdosta, The Alzheimer’s Caregivers Time Out and the Humane Society.  With these three causes, the Committee intends to touch the lives of everyone in someway.  Each charity touches on one of these significant issues ~ children, the elderly and animals.
